Heroin dealer caught with 200g of the Class A drug waits to learn his fate

Darren Hutchinson was arrested on February 17, 2021, at his Darlington home, Teesside Crown Court heard.

The 42-year-old, of Cumberland Street, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to supply.

Jonathan Walker, Hutchinson’s counsel, described him as an ‘enthusiastic’ heroin user who turned to dealing to fund his own addiction.

He added: “He has made efforts to deal with his drink and drug habits since his arrest.”

Hutchinson was released on bail to give him a chance to get ‘his house in order’ before returning to the same court to be sentenced on September 1.
