Dessie Farrell agrees one-year extension to remain as Dublin manager until 2025

DESSIE FARRELL is to remain in charge of the Dublin senior footballers for two more years at least.

Having steered the Dubs to All-Ireland SFC glory in July, Farrell still had another year to run on his term.

But his tenure has now been extended, with the Na Fianna man set to remain at the helm until the end of the 2025 campaign.

County board chairman Mick Seavers said: “We are delighted that Dessie has agreed to stay on with the Dublin senior football team for another two seasons.

“Dessie and his backroom team have dedicated so much of their time and effort to Dublin GAA over the past four seasons. We look forward to continuing to work with them in the years ahead.”

After succeeding Jim Gavin ahead of the 2020 season, Farrell guided Dublin to their sixth consecutive All-Ireland triumph.

The Sky Blues rebounded from back-to-back semi-final defeats by regaining the Sam Maguire this year thanks to a two-point victory over defending champions Kerry.
