A SAVVY cleaning fanatic has shared how to get rid off the gross smell from your bins with a nifty 10p trick.
After holding all the rubbish and food – 25 per cent of which ends up getting chucked away – it’s only natural that bins can start to smell over time.
But one savvy cleaning fan has shared an easy solution to prevent bad odours – and it doesn’t cost a fortune either, as the answer is most likely already sitting in your home.
According to the home interiors enthusiast, TikTok user @aestheticallyinhome, a common laundry essential will make all the difference.
Taking to social media, the savvy woman demonstrated how she uses a popular buy for your garments, which retails for as little as £1.99 – scent boosters.
The trick here, she shared in the video, is relatively straightforward and costs just pennies to do – simply empty the rubbish and pour a little cup of the beads inside the bin before placing the plastic bag.
The cleaning super fan, who also revealed how to cleverly use dryer sheets around your home, added that the 10p hack ”works even better in the food bin”.
Make your bathroom sink smell amazing
Much like our kitchens, bathrooms, too, can oftentimes have nasty aromas, especially once the sink gets blocked.
But according to the woman, whose TikTok page boasts more than 611k followers, you can tackle the gross smells by a simple solution in just two steps.
Once you’ve used your favourite pipe unblocker, which you can purchase from Screwfix and Sainsbury’s, pour in a little amount of a scented disinfectant and leave it overnight to work magic – voila!
Fellow cleaning fanatics also swore by this trick, with one adding: ”A cap of Zoflora in the bottom of the bin is best, smells fresh and gets rid of any germs at the bottom.”
Add a lovely scent inside your bathroom
Another easy trick for making your loo smell amazing is a 1p solution used on your toilet roll – yes, really.
Taking to TikTok, the cleaning enthusiast advised to simply add a little drop of Zoflora onto a cotton pad and rub it inside the loo roll.
The cardboard material should soak up all the lovely aroma – and it’s thought to last for ages, too.
2p hack for radiators
Although radiators typically don’t harbour any nasty aromas, the home interiors enthusiast demonstrated how they can become another easy way to make your home smell amazing.
Instead of just giving them a regular clean and wipe, the woman advised to pour a little of your favourite scented fabric conditioner in a dishwashing brush and use it to glide over the surface of your radiators.
Dozens of cleanign fans raced to comments to share their thoughts, with one writing: ”As a plumber that goes in eight or so houses a day, you’re the customers I really appreciate!”
Someone else advised: ”Bicarbonate in the bottom of bins stops smells and not the mess or expense of beads.”
